Roppo Kuji Biken

Article By Shihan Phillip Legare

Roppo in Japanese means the number six, but in this case it means all (six) directions; as in the 4 cardinal directions, plus up/down or in/out. The Kanji that Soke uses for the word Roppo looks very much like a man. The man is standing on top of Kuji, which in this case means spirit or connection to God. So you might say that spirit is lifting up the man and radiates in all directions.

Biken (or Bikenjutsu) is the final character and means sword or the way of the sword. Putting the three Kanji together to make Roppo Kuji Biken, Soke is depicting a spiritual warrior who welds his sword for Justice, fighting evil everywhere and always.

This is the nature of the Divine Warrior - Bujin - Roppo Kuji Biken.
